Like when #2 Ohio State spanked Ohio University 45-7 (and could have beat them 100-0) if they wanted to....)
What possibly could a winning coach tell the losing coach?|||It depends on their relationship. Some coaches are good friends. Some have known each other for a long time or have almost a father/son relationship. Randy Shannon of Miami said he and Dave Wannstedt of Pitt have a father/son-type relationship, and Miami blew Pitt out on Thursday. Coaches who are rivals or don't know each other that well basically say something like "good luck in the future, coach." If you haven't noticed, coaches with closer relationships stay and say a little more, and that's probably when a little more consoling goes on, i.e. "tough loss, coach" or "your team is heading in the right direction." Sometimes, the coaches will compliment a player on the team or some of the plays.|||You put up a great effort and your team is probably the most physical team we will play all year. We look forward to playing teams like this every year so we can maintain our high ranking. Then he asks the losing coach how he handles such a great defeat so he can prepare himself and the rest of the Buckeyes for a similar defeat when they face an SEC team in the national championship.
I guess some people find the truth a hard pill to swallow.|||ah that would be awkward. Maybe something like "nice try", "good game", "better luck next time", or to be mean "your team sucks". (probably that wouldn't be said)|||I could never be a coach after a game like that, I wouldn't be able to handle that kind of ineptness.
