How can you tell if a Coach product is genuine?
I wanted to buy a Coach bag from a friend, but I think it's fake. How can I tell if it's real or not. Are there certain things that I can look for that will instantly tell me its not real.|||You would be better off buying from a Coach Factory Store, but here is some basic info for telling a fake. Signature pieces will never have signature lining and the C's will start centered perfectly and go out from there. All zippers will say YKK. The stitching is always perfect. The creed number will be letter, number denoting yr made(6 for 1996, 06 for 2006,)letter or number(s), dash, then the style number. Factory pieces will have a bullseye stamp or an F before the style no. Ebay has a lot of good authenticating tips too. Coach has done a lot of tweaking to their products as far as serial no, where "coach" is stamped on the hardware, etc. This was done to help prevent counterfeits from copying their know styles and way of marking their pieces. The very best way to authenticate a bag is to take it to a Coach store or send it to Coach in New York, with $20 for return packaging. However, Coach will only tell you if you bag is authentic, they will not tell you what is wrong with it if it is fake. I hope this helps!|||it has a serial number on the inside next to the inside pocket|||Even the serial number can be put in fake. They are getting harder to tell from the real thing. It is better to buy one from a reputable retailer who sells Coach bags. Go to an outlet mall where overstock and seasonal items are sent to be sold. You can buy a genuine bag there for a fraction of the cost.|||It's pretty hard to tell with Coach but if the inside fabric is really nice it's probably real. Also look at the zipper quality.|||Stitching normally blends in with the fabric, logo is printed inside the bag and if you check other bags similar to it they all have different serial numbers if it is real.
