How could I become a college basketball coach without any previous coaching experience?

I am 30 years old and have worked a corporate job ever since graduating from college. Because of my job and the path that I took in college, I do not have any coaching experience. As a 30 year old with a family, what is the best way to get started on my path to becoming a coach at the college level?|||Okay buddy theres two routes you can take: The quick way and the slow way but i suggest the slow way because you have no expierience.

The slow way: You should start by trying to get a job at a middle school or something lower than a college level. Coaching a lower league will give you time to develp your inner coach(skills). It could also give you time to think, humm do i really want this. You need to get on the ball if you wanna coach. Because a coaching position is really important and if you dont know what your doing then the team could head for disaster. In other words the slow way is the way that you have build yourself up to.

The quick way: You should get your research on the internet from actual coaches becauuse your goning to need trainning. Then after your training and after your confident with your skill level. Then it's time for you to start going to colleges and aksing for a position as a coach. If you really want this you gotta go out there and get it my man. OK HOPE I'VE HELPED ALOT:)|||Well I know I'm a kid and everything but I love the game of basketball and I can't get enough of it. And I'm pretty good. Coaches have to be devoted to the game if you end up being a coach. I would suggest you start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Maybe start as youth, then go AAU, then maybe if you start winning games maybe end up in the AAU National Tourney, which will get you exposure and you can have that under your belt and high schools might be interested and so on that could lead to College.|||Honestly thats going to be hard at this point of your life. But you can start at the jr high level. Get certified as a coach through your states coaching board and get a cpr cert. Then see if any local jr highs are looking for a coach. Then start from there. You will still have to convince the schools athletic director that you wont be a gamble since you dont have a background but I hope this is a start. Good luck|||unless you played college or pro ball or been a coach on a high-school level team you most likely wont be able to find a D-1 or even D-2 school that would hire you
